AuthLite can be installed on 2008 Server Core R2, but not R1 because it lacks the .NET framework

If your organization uses Server Core to run domain controllers, and AuthLite users will be authenticating to those DC's, then it is necessary to install the AuthLite software on those DC's.

It is not possible to install AuthLite on the 2008 Server Core R1 product from Microsoft, because it does not include or support Microsoft's .NET framework.

In Core R2 you can install AuthLite by first installing the .NET prerequisites with the following commands:

start /w ocsetup NetFx2-ServerCore start /w ocsetup NetFx2-ServerCore-WOW64

Then launch the AuthLite setup file:

Version 1.x:

AuthLite_Setup_x64.exe

Version 2:

AuthLite_installer_x64.msi
